Kurdistan Islamic Union bloc in the Kurdistan Parliament issued on Monday, a statement on the issue of sentencing activists and journalists in Dohuk.
The bloc said in its statement, "The human rights situation and the pessimism of the citizens of the Kurdistan region are heading towards a dangerous slope."
Added, "We in the Kurdistan Islamic Union bloc in the Kurdistan Parliament see the human rights and freedoms situation in the Kurdistan region heading toward dangerous precipices."
Stressed that "it has many observations about the legal treatment of activists and journalists in Bahdinan area about the legal treatment of prisoners and convicts," explaining, "We would like to point out to the authorities that the reputation of the Kurdistan region has been tarnished, and the human rights situation and pessimism descend into dangerous valleys."
"We call on all parties to deal with a spirit of responsibility and prevent these setbacks against human rights and freedoms in the Kurdistan region," it stressed.
