Kurdistan Islamic Union issued a statement on the recent events in the region

The Executive Council of Kurdistan Islamic Union, on Thursday, issued a statement on the recent events in the Kurdistan region and the tensions between the two parties of power.

The Executive Council said in its statement that "at a time when the entire world is suffering from the spread of the Corona pandemic, the two parties of power in the region are busy with the media war and exaggerating the political gap and points of disagreement."

Added that "We in the Kurdistan Islamic Union consider these conditions very dangerous, and we demand the leaders of the two parties, the Presidency of the region, the government, and parliament to carry out their national duty to prevent any verbal and armed clashes."

"We call on leaders in the Kurdistan Democratic Party and the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan to:

1- Stop the media war and social media.

2- Removing the Peshmerga forces from the points of contact and possible sites of engagement.

3- Holding a summit meeting to present their criticism.

4- A more positive role for the presidency of the Kurdistan region.

5- The Kurdistan Islamic Union is ready for any role in this regard.

Pointed out that everyone is waiting for the leaders to take urgent action to limit the dangerous movements.
