Final statement of the extraordinary meeting of the Kurdistan Islamic Union Leadership Council
The leadership of the Kurdistan Islamic Union held an extraordinary meeting on Monday, 22 October 2018 to discuss the final results of the parliamentary elections of Kurdistan and how to take a stand on it.
At the beginning of the meeting, referred to the violations and fraud committed by the two parties in power in the process for the purpose of changing the vote in their favor.
The meeting reiterated its rejection of the election results and taking the necessary legal measures in this regard.
In another part of the meeting, they discussed options available to the Kurdistan Islamic Union.
In this regard, the leadership council of the Kurdistan Islamic Union after discussing the result of the referendum held inside the cadres of the party, decided not to participate in the new government of the Kurdistan Region and continue the political and parliamentary struggle as an opposition to participate actively in the real reform process and fight corruption to provide justice for all citizens.
