As part of his tour in the capital, Baghdad, Secretary-General of the Kurdistan Islamic Union, Salahuddin Muhammad Bahaauddin, and his accompanying delegation, on Wednesday, visited the Iraqi Jurisprudence Academy and was received by Sheikh Ahmed Hassan Taha and a number of scholars.
During the meeting, the two sides discussed the political situation in Iraq, the Kurdistan Region, the region, and the Islamic world, and the Secretary-General appreciated the role of the Iraqi Jurisprudence Academy in serving scholars and mosques.
The Secretary-General stressed the need for the Academy to play its role in the Sunni authority in Iraq and to play a role in religious issues and educate people about the challenges facing morals and the highest values of Muslims.
In another part of the meeting, the two sides discussed the war on Gaza and the role of scholars in supporting the cause and conveying the suffering of the residents of the Gaza Strip.
On the other hand, the Iraqi Jurisprudence Academy expressed its thanks and gratitude for the visit of the Secretary-General of the Kurdistan Islamic Union and his accompanying delegation, hoping that these meetings and visits would continue.
