Salahuddin Mohammed Bahauddin, Secretary-General of the Kurdistan Islamic Union, received Volker Perses, Head of the Independent Strategic Review Team for the work of UNAMI.
The meeting discussed the situation in the Kurdistan Region and Iraq and the challenges facing regional stability, and the head of the team highlighted the purpose of his visit, which is to assess the tasks and work of the UN envoy team in Iraq.
In the meeting, the Secretary-General thanked UNAMI for its years of service in the country and gave necessary comments to the delegation regarding UNAMI's mission in Iraq and the Kurdistan Region, he considered the permanent constitution of Iraq as the key to resolving the outstanding issues.
