Secretary-General of the Kurdistan Islamic Union, Salahuddin Muhammad Bahaauddin, participated, on Sunday, in the funeral ceremonies of the leader of the Union and one of its founders, Hama Rashid Mawati.
The ceremony was attended by a large number of members and leaders of the Kurdistan Islamic Union, as well as a large gathering of citizens and lovers of the deceased, his family, and relatives.
In a speech during the ceremony, Secretary-General said, "The deceased was credible and upright," adding that "recently he has been more enthusiastic and active in following up on the affairs of the Union and has been proactive in pleasing Allah despite the deterioration of his health."
He pointed out that "it is a matter of pride, despite our sadness, that we bid farewell to one of our leaders to his final resting place," explaining that "the deceased began his advocacy journey since he was seventeen years old until his death."
