Secretary-General of the Kurdistan Islamic Union, Salahuddin Muhammad Bahauddin, received today, Tuesday, December 21, 2021, the Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Iraq, Iraj Masjedi, and the Iranian Consul in Erbil, Nasrallah Rashnoudi.
During the meeting, the two sides discussed the situation in Iraq, the Kurdistan region, and the region, especially the situation after the recent Iraqi elections, and the obstacles to forming the next Iraqi government. The two sides stressed the formation of a government on the basis of consensus, stability of the country, and preventing destabilization.
Masjidi congratulated the victory of the Kurdistan Islamic Union in the Iraqi elections and praised the role of the Union at the level of Iraq and the Kurdistan Region, and wished it to continue.
