Secretary-General of the Kurdistan Islamic Union Salahuddin Muhammad Bahaauddin opened on Monday the headquarters of the new branch of the Union in the town of Arbat in Sulaymaniyah.
In a speech on this occasion, Secretary-General said that "after 30 years of rule, the citizens of the Kurdistan region are still suffering from the lack of the most basic rights and the persistence of crises one after the other."
He added that "the Kurdistan Islamic Union is a peaceful popular force, and for more than 27 years since its announcement, it has not deviated from the slogan it raised, which is: brotherhood, freedom, and justice."
He stressed that "the authorities in the region are immersed in a sea of corruption and have forgotten the people, citizens, present and future generations," explaining that "injustice will not last and history will not show mercy to the oppressors and will erase their traces."
He stressed that "the people deserve a better life and that young people face great injustice," adding that "we must confront injustice and the oppressors with accurate plans and preserve human rights."
