Secretary-General of the Kurdistan Islamic Union, Salahuddin Muhammad Bahaauddin, met yesterday, Saturday, with a number of the Union’s cadres in Sulaymaniyah.
Secretary-General said during a speech that "the KIU, since its founding, has been subjected to a lot of pressure towards its political positions, but it has not submitted to it."
He added that "all members of the union should be proud of themselves because they did not participate in the shedding of a single drop of blood, nor did they participate in wasting public money," noting that "on the contrary, they participated in construction and social reform projects in the Kurdistan region."
He stressed that "the authority in the Kurdistan region is in urgent need of fundamental reforms," adding that "unfortunately, despite the passage of nearly three decades since the region's rule by the Kurdish parties, citizens suffer from many accumulated problems".
