Secretary-General of the Kurdistan Islamic Union, Monday, confirmed that March 11 is a historic day for the people of Kurdistan and in the uprising.
"11 March is a historic day for the people of Kurdistan, especially for the people of the city of Erbil, which made the uprising on this day," Salahuddin Muhammad Bahaauddin, during a ceremony honoring the centers of the Kurdistan Islamic Union said . "The uprising has created great hope and the Islamic Union will work to protect this hope and will not support despair. "
Secretary-General added that "today also coincides with the anniversary of the first formal agreement between the Kurdish forces and the Iraqi government at that time, guaranteed the rights of the people of Kurdistan on March 11, 1970," noting that "despite violating the Convention, but it remains an important event of the agreements with successive Iraqi governments."
He explained that "the political conditions in the region is unstable, but we as part of this community not to despair and planning at all levels to get out of the current crisis."
On the selection of the political opposition, the Secretary-General explained that "the Kurdistan Islamic Union is not in a state of war with any party," stressing that "the Union gives each member of the community attention to all components."
As for young people, he pointed out that "the authority in the Kurdistan region did not give any importance to young people, which led to the deterioration of their situation," but "we must work to help young people and everyone in the community."
