Secretary-General: Baghdad is wasting time about negotiations with Erbil

Secretary-General of the Kurdistan Islamic Union Salahuddin Muhammad Bahaaudin pointed to the files related to the relationship between Erbil and Baghdad, and stressed that Baghdad wasting time about negotiations with the region.

Secretary-General of the Kurdistan Islamic Union Salahuddin Muhammad Bahaauddin during an interview with Anadolu agency after his return from Turkey, said that the reason for his visit to Turkey is due to the normalization of the relationship between Erbil and Ankara after a break between the two sides because of the referendum on independence, pointing to the existence of concern from the Turkish side for not consulting them about this file.

Secretary-General of the Kurdistan Islamic Union expressed optimism about the normalization of relations between the Kurdistan Region and Turkey, stressing the importance of conducting direct dialogues between the two sides to melt the ice.

The Secretary-General pointed out that Turkey has not accepted the practical steps against the Kurdistan Region so far, praising the Turkish government's efforts to aid victims of the earthquake that struck the Kurdistan Region recently, pointing out at the same time that this step is a sign that the Turkish government and its people are on the continuation of relations between the two sides.

Secretary-General said they respect the decision of the Federal Court as a supreme legal body, but the resolution of the referendum file to cancel it is something to consider.
