A message by the Secretary General of the Kurdistan Islamic Union on the occasion of declaring results of Kurdish Referendum for Independent Kurdistan.
In the Name of God, Most Gracious, Most Merciful Dignified people of Kurdistan Kurdistanian from all over the world Campaigners and supporters of freedom in the world Peace be upon you, The people of Kurdistan proudly have made the Sep 25, 2017 as the date of national dignity, and successfully overcome the referendum process, it was the dream for our people for many years that was seen in a glorious carnival, Kurdish people had a say in a democratic, peaceful and modern way. I would like to congratulate everyone. Following this great national victory, it is time for all parties and powers to open a new page, and continue with political and legal movements in order to materialize this essential step, we also need to continue with the process of reform and combating corruption, correcting mistakes and strive for improving the life condition of people and putting an end to financial crisis. It is the responsibility of political parties to put a plan for protecting this victory and the reform process through parliament, start a new step in parliamentary and governance process, try to institutionalize agencies, monitor and support the government, held elections on time, restart the political life as it was, protect this victory and do not see it as a personal or political gain, have a plan to normalize the situation and ensure foreign countries and other parties. That would guarantee a proper road-map for gaining independent and Kurdish state, depending on referendum. At this crucial time, we would like to ask foreign countries, people of foreign countries, all international organizations and agencies to respectfully accept this decision by our people. We would like to ask Islamic political parties and organizations, human rights advocates in the world to support and help the will of our people. We would like to say that all Kurdish people in the region without any differences to be unified, have one goal, and to be united in order to protect this gain and work for our future responsibilities. We are in the Kurdistan Islamic Union have proudly implemented our responsibility, the first step was referendum for independence, we will continue as an essential and active partner for all responsibilities in the future, we will never withdraw in our responsibilities, we will not wait for anybody, and will not wait for any appreciations, we are not affected by critics and appreciations, we know what we are doing and we are loyal and want to serve our people and the nation. Congratulations again for the victory of Sep 25, the date of victory for us, people of Kurdistan, all Kurds in Europe and all over the world. I wish you all the success always!
