KIU renews its adherence to hold the Kurdistan Parliament elections on schedule

Kurdistan Islamic Union bloc in the Kurdistan Parliament, on Tuesday, renewed its demands to hold Parliamentary election in the region on schedule, indicating that there are parties seeking to postpone it.

This was stated by the head of the Kurdistan Islamic Union bloc Sherko Jawdat, during a statement to Kurdiu.

Jawdat said: "We renew our demand to hold the Kurdistan Parliament election on its scheduled date next September, and we see no need to postpone it."

He added: "There are (unnamed) parties seeking to postpone the election for political and partisan interests."

The head of the bloc called for transparent and fair elections, stressing that "all the elections that took place in the region were largely absent from transparency and integrity."
