The statement of the regular meeting of the leadership council of the Kurdistan Islamic Union

The leadership council of the Kurdistan Islamic Union (KIU) held its regular meeting on Thursday 12/10/2023 in the presence of Salahuddin Mohammed Bahauddin, Secretary-General, Hdi Ali Head of the Leadership Council, and Mohammed Ahmad, Chairman of the High Supervisory Board.
The meeting focused on the situation in the Kurdistan Region and Iraq and the region in general, especially the poor living conditions of the employees of the Kurdistan Region, and stressed the need for solving this problem as soon as possible by both the Kurdistan Regional Government and the Iraqi government so that the salaried employees of the Kurdistan Region, like other parts of Iraq, receive their salaries on time and the necessary mechanisms and measures to be taken away from political conflicts.
In this regard, the leadership of the KIU considers it necessary for the Kurdistan Regional Government to solve the problems of employees, teachers, volunteers, and contract employees to return to normal and daily work in schools, hospitals, and all government offices in all cities and towns.
Regarding the upcoming parliamentary elections, the leadership meeting considers it necessary to hold the elections on time, away from fraud and interference and to end the constitutional vacuum in the political system of the region as soon as possible.
In this regard, the leadership council stressed its declared position to form a national framework with the protesting parties outside the government, for this purpose, the KIU will continue to negotiate with all parties to reach an agreement and joint cooperation for this purpose.
The meeting also discussed the recent fighting between Hamas and the occupying Israeli regime and stressed its support for the legitimate right of the Palestinian people to defend themselves and the holy places of Muslims, especially the Al-Aqsa Mosque, it also expressed its condolences to the residents of the Gaza Strip who are under the brutal siege and air strikes, which is a humanitarian and moral duty that face all nations of the world.
In this regard, the leadership of the KIU considers it necessary that the states of the region resolve the internal problems and conflicts through political means and end the recourse to force, violence, and destruction, especially against the Kurdish people in all parts of Kurdistan.
In the end, the leadership council meeting stressed that the Kurdistan Islamic Union will continue on its national and Islamic position as always while defending the aspirations and concerns of the people of the region in general as its priority and all efforts and abilities He uses for that purpose.
