We would like to inform everyone that journalist and prominent personality of Zakho (Islam Keshani), on Thursday afternoon at 9:45 minutes, in order to go to his media work in the office of Speda TV and Khabir Agency, left home before arriving his official workplace he is arrested and kidnapped by security forces.
This step of the Zakho security forces is contrary to the Kurdistan Journalism Law No. 35 of 2007, which states that the arrest of journalists must be ordered by a judge and with the knowledge of the Kurdistan Journalists Syndicate.
The Kurdish people in general and the honorable people of Zakho, testify that (Islam Keshani), despite being a brave and active journalist, but also a loyal and charitable personality of the region. kidnapping in this way puts the experience of the Kurdistan Region under more question.
The Kurdistan Islamic Union Media Network strongly condemns this irresponsible act and says that the safety of journalist Islam Kashani is the responsibility of the security agency and the independent administration of Zakho and we demand his immediate release.
