The Kurdistan Islamic Union (KIU) today, August 17, 2023, received the Russian Consul General.
Hadi Ali, Chairman of the Leadership Council of the KIU, received Maxim Robin, Consul General of Russia in the Kurdistan Region, in the presence of Mohammed Hawdiani, Head of the Relation Bureau, Abdulaziz Hashim and Farhad Yasin, members of the Relation Bureau.
In this meeting, the two sides discussed the political situation in the Kurdistan Region and Iraq and exchanged views on this issue.
Both sides stressed the need to hold the Kurdistan parliamentary elections on schedule and discussed the importance of an early agreement between the Kurdistan Region and the central government to improve the situation of the people of the region.
For their part, the KIU delegation thanked the Russian Consul General and explained the KIU's political views on current issues.
Both sides hoped to continue their relations for the development of the Kurdistan Region and the interests of the people of the Kurdistan Region.
