The Kurdistan Islamic Union announced, on Saturday, its rejection of all calls for normalization with Israel, considering that the conference held in Erbil under the name of "peace and reclamation"; A conspiratorial scheme targeting the Kurdistan region, and a desperate attempt to drive a wedge between the peoples of the region.
This came in a statement by the Executive Council of the Kurdistan Islamic Union.
The statement began by saying, "It is unfortunate that such a conspiratorial conference is being held in the Kurdistan region by people who oppose the just cause of our people, in the name of peace and the normalization of relations with the Israeli occupation entity."
The statement added: "We in the Kurdistan Islamic Union strongly condemn this conspiracy scheme, and we consider it a hostile step aimed at driving a wedge between the peoples of the region, aiming to equate the executioner with the victim."
The statement concluded: "We hope the relevant institutions will be more nimble, and not allow the region to turn into an arena of conflict and a focus of conspiracy at the expense of the rights of our people."
Yesterday, Friday, a so-called "peace and reclamation conference" was held in Erbil, organized by Iraqi tribal and political figures, which called for the normalization of relations with Israel publicly.
