The Chairman of the Leadership Council of the Kurdistan Islamic Union, Dr. Hadi Ali, considered on Sunday that Palestine is the first cause for all Muslims, defending it is a religious and humanitarian duty, stressing the union’s solidarity with the Palestinian people and supporting the cause of Jerusalem and the blessed Al Aqsa through its available media capabilities.
In a post on his personal Facebook page, Ali said, “The Palestinian issue is based on two factors: religious, for the status of Al-Aqsa, for it is the first Qibla of Muslims, and the way of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) and all holy sites in Jerusalem are subject to occupation and face threats of sabotage. This status makes it imperative that all Muslims have a duty to defend it on the basis of religious and legal responsibility.
He continued, "The second factor: humanitarian, represented in the people and land of Palestine, people facing occupation for decades, and as a result of it, it is subjected to killing, displacement, siege, and demographic change, and all kinds of injustice and brutal tyranny, as we see these days in Gaza and other Palestinian areas."
He added, "Defending the oppressed Palestinian people is a humanitarian and moral duty, without a doubt, and all peoples of the world, including we, the Kurds and the people of Kurdistan, must fulfill this duty."
He stressed, "We in the Kurdistan Islamic Union have a duty to show solidarity with the Palestinian people and support the cause of Jerusalem and the blessed Al Aqsa, through our moral capabilities and available media capabilities."
