Kurdistan Islamic Union confirms its refusal to deduct employees' salaries

The leadership council of the Kurdistan Islamic Union held a regular session chaired by Hadi Ali, the head of the council, and in the presence of Secretary-General of the Kurdistan Islamic Union, Salahuddin Muhammad Bahaauddin.

After the meeting, the council issued a statement, in which it touched upon the deteriorating economic conditions in the region, the conditions of citizens, and political developments on the two arenas in the Kurdistan region, Iraq and the region.

The Council affirmed that its position is firm by rejecting the measures taken by the regional government to deduct a percentage of the employees' salaries and that the Kurdistan Islamic Union stands with the legitimate demands of citizens.

It called on the government to carry out real radical reforms and to make the region's imports transparent and to conclude a permanent agreement with the federal government in Baghdad in order to avoid cutting employees' salaries.

While the council indicated in its statement to the necessity of completing the election law before the early elections, in order to free and fair elections to be held, free of fraud and internal and external interference.
