The Executive Council of the Kurdistan Islamic Union yesterday, Wednesday, issued a statement on the difficult living conditions faced by citizens in the Kurdistan region.
This came after a meeting held by the Council headed by the Secretary-General of the Kurdistan Islamic Union, Salahuddin Muhammad Bahauddin.
In addition to the health, political and economic conditions in Iraq and the region, the meeting discussed the accumulated crises in the Kurdistan region.
The Council shed light on the deteriorating health conditions and the dangerous spread of the Corona pandemic throughout the region, matched by poor management, also discussed the living conditions of citizens, the stagnant economy, and semi-closed markets.
The statement blamed the ruling authority in the Kurdistan region for its shortcomings in reforms and indifference in solving the outstanding problems between Erbil and Baghdad.
The statement also warned of an explosion of situations if crises continued in the region, stressing that the Kurdistan Islamic Union stands with unity and preservation of security and stability as it stands with the demands of citizens.
The Executive Council of the Kurdistan Islamic Union called on the ruling authorities in the Kurdistan region to comply with the demands of citizens and secure their most basic rights before the situation goes into point of no return.
