The Executive Council of Kurdistan Islamic Union, on Wednesday, issued a statement on the anniversary of the uprising and national events in March.
In its statement, the council said, "As we celebrate in the coming days the 29th anniversary of the popular uprising against the Baath regime, Kurdistan region suffers from several accumulated corruption cases made by successive governments in the region after the uprising."
Stressed that "Kurdistan Region in the current stage is in urgent need of radical and institutional solutions, so that the system of government will return to its natural path," adding that "from this standpoint, we stress the necessity of unity of rank and brotherhood and the unification of the word."
The Executive Council stated that "the authority in Iraq suffers from a deep political crisis threatening the social peace," explaining, "We call on all Iraqi political parties to reject political differences and work to get the country out of its complex crisis."
The statement also highlighted the spread of Corona virus in the region and the world, stressing that "humanity will be able to defeat the virus", calling on everyone "as a religious and patriotic duty to adhere to medical advice and guidelines to preserve the safety and security of the homeland and citizens."
