Kurdistan Islamic Union issued a statement on the developments that took place in Iraq recently

Kurdistan Islamic Union issued a statement today, Saturday, January 4, 2020, on the latest developments and events that occurred in Iraq.

The following is the text of the statement:

Kurdistan Islamic Union statement on the latest events that occurred in Iraq.

The violent events and developments that took place in Iraq recently, especially targeting (Qassem Soleimani and Abu Mahdi Al-Muhandis) and a number of their assistants by the US military, are a source of concern and sadness for us and we consider them a dangerous development ...

This event is a step towards the development of the reaction and the possibility of a bloody war and making Iraq the scene of a destructive war ... at the time we in the Kurdistan Islamic Union are calling on God for mercy, forgiveness for them, and recovery for the wounded ... We demand an end to this dangerous development, intervention and violation of state sovereignty and that Iraq should not be a battleground for states ’wars, the Iraqi people, in addition to their problems and sufferings, do not deserve this suffering ... Unfortunately, the Middle East region, which is the source of divine civilizations and religions and has vast natural resources, has become a bastion of bloody war and the language of dialogue marginalized.

On this occasion, we demand the international community and international organizations to assume their responsibilities and work seriously to end this wide war, and demanding all parties solve their problems through political and diplomatic methods and refer to international treaties.
