The Kurdistan Islamic Union and the Kurdistan Islamic Movement announced in a joint statement on Monday the formation of a unified coalition to participate in parliamentary elections in the Kurdistan Region, scheduled for 30 September 2018.
The two parties said in the joint statement that they would participate in the Kurdistan legislative elections on a joint list called "Towards reform", will include the majority of Islamists in the region.
The Islamic Union and the Islamic Movement took part in the Iraqi parliamentary elections held on May 12, a joint list called "Reform Islamists" (No. 175).
