The referendum council announces the features of the state of Kurdistan

The Supreme Council for Referendum announced a political document that paints a picture of the future state of Kurdistan and the status of its components.

Khalil Ibrahim, a member of the Council at a press conference said that Kurdistan will be a federal civil state that preserves the rights of Kurds, Arabs, Turkmen, Chaldeans, Syriacs, Assyrians, Armenians, Yazidis, Christians, Muslims, Catholics, Jews, Zoroastrians and Mandaeans.

He added that the State of Kurdistan will adopt the Kurdish, Arab, Turkmen, Syriac and Armenian languages officially.

He added that the state of Kurdistan will also adopt the federal system and that Turkmen, Arabs and Yezidi will rule their regions and the rest of the components as well.

He explained that the component representation will be fully in government positions and Peshmerga forces, and that the flag of Kurdistan will be organized by law to represent the components.

He added that this document, which is 15 points will be submitted to the Parliament of the Kurdistan Region for approval, and the Supreme Council for the referendum.
