The Secretary-General of the Kurdistan Islamic Union, Salahuddin Muhammad Bahaauddin, confirmed on Tuesday that the March 1991 uprising was an event at the peak of oppressed popular anger.
The Secretary-General said on his own website on the X website, “The anniversary of the spring 1991 uprising occurred at the peak of oppressed popular anger, as it is a natural result of the people’s patience and the end of the period of injustice in Iraq.”
He added, "This is a clear message to the indifferent local authority, and that patience has limits," explaining that "it is also a message to the exhausted citizen, and continued pressure lead to explosion."
