Secretary-General of the KIU: Officials in Kurdistan ignore the crises

Secretary-General of the Kurdistan Islamic Union, Salahuddin Muhammad Bahaaudin, held on Monday a meeting with a group of the union’s cadres in the city of Sulaymaniyah, in the presence of a number of members of the leadership and executive councils.

The Secretary-General said in a speech during the meeting, "Officials in the Kurdistan region are ignoring the crises in the Kurdistan region and that the conditions that the citizens are suffering from need to be taken seriously."

He added, "The regional government must deal more responsibly with the federal government to reach radical solutions in a way that keeps the salaries of employees and the livelihood of the people in Kurdistan away from political differences."

In another part of his speech, he stressed the KIU's "steadfast position in holding the elections free of fraud and on time," reiterating his request for "the forces and parties outside power to create a common front."

Regarding the situation in the Middle East, he pointed out that "the region needs new changes and that history has proven that the existence of any people or nationality cannot be ended by force of arms," stressing, that we once again demand that issues be resolved peacefully and we condemn the violence committed against innocent people."

He stated that "the general killing of the Zionist entity against the residents of Gaza confirms the failure of this regime," explaining that "the Palestinians have a right over every Muslim and to defend the holy sites of Muslims, the Blessed Al-Aqsa, and the injustice they face."
