During a meeting with members of the General Shura of Sulaimani Region held this morning Saturday 23/9/2023, Salahaddin Mohammed Bahaaddin, Secretary-General of the Kurdistan Islamic Union (KIU), said: The mistakes of the officials brought the situation in the Kurdistan Region to this day due to the abandonment of public interests and attention to personal and party interests, the situation in Iraq, Kurdistan region and the region has deteriorated.
In another part of his speech, the Secretary-General of the KIU stressed that the conflict and disunity among the Kurds are the main reasons for the deterioration of the situation in the region, which has been the case in the past.
In another topic, the importance of the Kurdistan parliamentary elections was pointed out and the Secretary-General stressed that the elections should be held on time and the United Nations and the European Union should closely monitor the process.
