Salahaddin Mohammed Bahaaddin, Secretary-General of the Kurdistan Islamic Union (KIU), accompanied by a delegation of the Executive Council and leadership received this afternoon, Monday 7/11/2022 , David Hunt, British Consul General in the Kurdistan Region.
The two sides discussed the situation in the Kurdistan Region, Iraq and the region and emphasized the stability of the region and the new Iraqi government in serving the Iraqi people and the implementation of the constitution that protects the rights of all parties and communities.
In another part of the meeting, Secretary-General of the KIU stressed the holding of parliamentary elections and pointed out that we respect our voters and they gave confidence to our representatives for four years and the four years have ended.
The elections must be held in a democratic manner and under the supervision of civil society organizations and representatives of countries so that citizens can re-elect their representatives, because this parliament has expired.
The British Consul expressed his pleasure with this meeting and expressed his support for holding the Kurdistan parliamentary elections as soon as possible.
