Secretary-General of the Kurdistan Islamic Union, Salahuddin Muhammad Bahaauddin, discussed, on Saturday, with Iraqi President Dr. Barham Salih, the situation in Iraq and the region.
This came during a visit paid by Salahuddin to Dr. Barham Salih at his residence in Sulaymaniyah, on Saturday.
During the meeting, the two sides discussed the situation in Iraq and the region, foremost of which is the crisis of forming the Iraqi government, the region's conditions and relations with the federal government.
The two sides stressed the consensus to get out of the political crisis in Iraq, strengthen the position of the Kurds in Baghdad, and protect the constitutional gains for the people of Kurdistan, and the higher interests of the region and its citizens.
For his part, the Iraqi president praised the role of the Kurdistan Islamic Union and its Secretary-General in serving the people and strengthening national cohesion in general.
For his part, Salahuddin Bahauddin praised the Iraqi president's continued efforts to reduce the gap between the political disparities in the country.
