Secretary-General of the Kurdistan Islamic Union: We will not accept bargaining over the Islamic religion

Secretary-General of the Kurdistan Islamic Union, Salahuddin Muhammad Bahaauddin, stressed, on Tuesday, that our priority is to unite our ranks, and it is one of the works of the faithful.

Secretary-General's statement came during a meeting with a number of cadres of the Union said that "Our people are a Muslim people, and they have been an active part of the Islamic nation for 1,400 years," explaining that "the adherents of other religions in Kurdistan coexist in brotherhood."

He added, "We have a history full of fraternity, and that imported ideas will not affect it, and we will not raise our voices if we are not sure of its existence," stressing, "We respect every human being and his beliefs."

He indicated, "We, as Islamic parties, are proud of our Islamic orientations, and that the Kurdistan Islamic Union always supports peaceful coexistence," stressing that "the adherence of adherents of other religions to their religion is evidence of coexistence and its merit is due to Muslims."

He pointed out that "we were ready to compromise the rights of the Islamic Union, but we will not accept bargaining over the Islamic religion."
