Secretary-General of the Kurdistan Islamic Union, Salahuddin Muhammad Bahaaudin, addressed, Sunday, a speech on the occasion of the Prophet’s birthday.
In his message, Secretary-General said, "On the occasion of the anniversary of the birth of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), I extend my congratulations and blessings to all Muslims and all of humanity."
He added, "We Muslims in the Kurdistan region are committed to the message and instructions of the Prophet of Islam (peace be upon him), and we are proud to be Muslims and that our religion calls for peace, tolerance and coexistence with all religions and nationalities."
While he pointed out that "as we celebrate this beloved memory, we must address the bitter truth, which is that we did not touch the authorities of the region for their pride in the religion of their people, its bright history and deep heritage."
He stressed that "justice, preservation of national identity, and commitment to the religion that our people adhered to for one thousand four hundred years, are enough to bring about civil peace and reconciliation between the authority and the people," explaining that "adhering to the teachings and advice of the Prophet (peace be upon him) is enough to bring the country out of a state of anxiety and fragmentation." .
