Secretary-General of the Kurdistan Islamic Union, Salahuddin Muhammad Bahaauddin, on Thursday, met with the Secretariat of the Islamic Union of Kurdistan Sisters in Sulaymaniyah.
In a speech delivered at the meeting, Secretary-General said, "The whole world is in dire need at the present time to preserve the human rights of both sexes and respect for the other."
He added, "The political, economic and health crises produced social and moral crises, which burdened the women in the struggle to establish their rights and perform their duties."
He also touched on the status of women in Islam and their rights and that the application of these concepts on the ground changes from one place to another, calling on women to work harder to prevent their exploitation for goals that do not serve their high status.
