Secretary-General of the Kurdistan Islamic Union, Salahuddin Muhammad Bahaauddin, on Saturday, held a meeting with representatives of the KIU in the local government in the governorates of Sulaymaniyah and Halabja, as well as the departments of Garmian and Raparin.
Secretary-General said that "the representatives of the KIU in local governments are the true representatives of the citizen and they must not spare their efforts in pressuring government officials to implement the citizens' demands."
He added that "the continuing accumulation of crises on the Kurdistan Regional Government without solutions is a source of concern to us," explaining that "for more than a quarter of a century, the citizens of the region have been suffering from the loss of their most basic rights."
He stressed that "the delay in paying salaries added a heavy burden on the shoulders of citizens in the Kurdistan region."
