Secretary-General of Kurdistan Islamic Union announced that February 17th was an innocent campaign by citizens to express dissatisfaction with the performance of the authority.
Secretary-General of Kurdistan Islamic Union, Salahuddin Muhammad Bahauddin, in a statement marking the anniversary of the February 17, 2011 demonstrations on his Twitter page, wrote"On the ninth anniversary of February 17, 2011, I send peace to the souls of the martyrs."
He added that "the 17th of February was an innocent campaign by citizens to express their dissatisfaction with the performance of the authority, also it was a clear view of showing insecurity and unfairness of the parties of power in facing the situation".
