Kurdistan Islamic Union issued a final statement after its eighth general conference

Kurdistan Islamic Union, on Sunday, issued a statement on the occasion of the end of the party's eighth general conference, which took two days, during which a vote was taken on the rules of procedure for the next four years, in addition to electing the general secretary, members of the leadership council and the supreme body for follow-up.

The statement affirmed that, under the slogan "creativity and excellence", the Kurdistan Islamic Union held its eighth general conference on 28 and 29/12/2019 with the attendance of more than 900 conference members, including 200 members of the sisters.

He added that after studying the rules of procedure, the votes have been taken on it by majority, and the officials of 16 centers of the KIU were voted in all 16 cities of the Kurdistan Region.

The statement indicated that on the first day a vote was taken on the electing the Secretary-General, whose competitor was between Salahuddin Muhammad Bahauddin and Abu Bakr Karwani. After the vote, Salahuddin Muhammad Bahauddin received the majority of the votes of the members to be re-chosen as Secretary-General for the next four years.

The members of the Supreme Follow-up Authority, which are 5 members were also voted on, in addition to selecting 27 members of the leadership council.
