Secretary-General of the Kurdistan Islamic Union, Salahuddin Mohammad Bahaauddin, expressed party's support to allocate seats for Yazidis in the Parliament of Kurdistan.
This came during a meeting with a high-level delegation from the Yezidi community in the Kurdistan Region. According to a press release issued on Tuesday 10/7/2018 by the Office of the Secretary-General.
The press statement said: "The visiting delegation is headed by (Hazem Tahseen Bek) Deputy head of the Yezidi religious community, includes spiritual figures."
"We reject all kinds of tyranny and domination under any name, religious or national, and we refuse to exercise it against any component," the statement said.
The Secretary-General to the visiting delegation said that : "ISIS has committed two crimes against you and the other against Islam." (According to the statement)
The statement added that: "The visiting delegation expressed its gratitude for the good reception, praising the role of the Kurdistan Islamic Union in promoting co-existence between different components and communities of Kurdistan."
According to the statement: "The delegation asked the Secretary-General, the Kurdistan Islamic Union support to allocate seats for Yazidis in the Parliament of Kurdistan."
The statement said that the secretary-general confirmed by saying: "We support the demands of Yazidis to allocate seats in the Parliament of Kurdistan and support any other legitimate demand."
